In addition to the many walks possible from the tower, you can rent bikes (www.decouvriruzes.fr/location-velos-uzes), enjoy climbing (or do a via ferrata) in the Gardon gorges (Collias, 6 km from Uzès) (www.moniteurs-gard.com) and canoe down the Gardon River, which will give you the most stunning view of the Pont-du-Gard aqueduct as you travel beneath it, unless you prefer to fly over it in a hot air balloon! You can also play golf at the Uzès golf club (9 holes) (www.golfuzes.fr) or go horse riding in one of the many riding centres.
For the more adventurous, you can go paragliding off Mont Bouquet (www.parapentesud.com).
